HEAT EXCHANGER WORK SCOPE FOR SHUTDOWN
FOR- MECHANICAL ENGINEER, MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR AND MECHANICAL FOREMAN
JOB DESCRIPTION – INTERNAL INSPECTION, VT, UT, PT, TUBE INSPECTION BY RFET, TUBE VIDEOSCOPY, HYDROJETTING, HYDROTEST
Pre Shutdown Activities
- Scaffolding to be erected if required
- Insulation removal to be done if required
- Identify the location and do tagging of the equipment
- Apply de-rusting (Molykote) solvent to all the bolts
- Arrangement of blinds/vent spades/boilermaker, confirmation of blind insertion & arrangement for hydrotesting
- Fabrication of temporary support if required
Shutdown Activities
- Install the required blinds at inlet and outlet nozzles
- Remove the associated piping’s & provide temporary support if required
- Unbolting & Opening of front & rear bonnet covers.
- Visual Inspection after opening the exchangers
- Cleaning of covers, shell & tubes by hydro-jetting
- Internal inspection, VT,UT,PT & Tube Videoscope
- Buffing of weld joints as per Inspection requirements
- Tube Inspection by RFET, ECT, IRIS
- Make necessary arrangement & Perform hydrotest (Shell Test & Tube Test)
- Acceptance for hydrotest
- Clearance for box-up
- Welding of hydrotest plugs (if required) & Box-up of front & rear bonnet covers
- De-blind and re-instating the connections & torqueing
Post Shutdown Activities
- Re-fixing insulation if required
- Remove scaffolding if required
- Proper Housekeeping
